Some bone sites are secret, and others are well-known. This bone site in Cenote Nai Tucha of Sistema Ko’ok Baal (Tux Kabaxa) is famous with both archeologists and divers. The small plastic triangles are INAH markers, placed during the study of the mastadon bones found here. A dive to the bone site in Nai Tucha requires Full Cave Diver Certification, as divers must pass over one t-intersection or two jumps. When observing bone sites, it is absolutely essential to remain several meters from any archeological remains, and to avoid passing any part of your body over the site.
