CAVE TRAINING PATH

How to become a cave diver

INTRO TO TEC DETAILS

Prepare yourself to excel in any type of technical diving by building a strong foundation of core skills. While some techniques required for cave, deep, and wreck diving differ with the environment, every tec diver should be familiar with skills such as long hose use, valve shut downs, and advanced buoyancy and propulsion techniques. This is the course will improve your underwater control and permanently change the way you approach diving – for the better.

WHERE WILL I DIVE DURING THE COURSE?

We’ll conduct the theory portion of the Intro to Tec Course in the classroom at Under the Jungle, where we’ll watch videos and discuss the core skills presented in the course. Confined water skill practice is done in the open water of the cenotes, and the final check out dives are conducted in the ocean on drift dives. You’ll see a little bit of everything and apply your new skills to a variety of environments, discovering that advanced propulsion techniques make diving more fluid in all situations, and that even deploying a lift bag is fun!
