Why do we train to follow a guideline in zero visibility? How often does zero viz really happen in a cave? The answer is that it’s rare, but possible. At the Intro to Cave level, divers stay in big open spaces, and they are more likely to encounter reduced visibility as opposed to actual zero viz. In either case, then moment you can’t see the line clearly, it’s time to grab it and head on out.
